Employee Resource Group Leadership

Co-Founded First Employee Association for Homeland Security Intelligence Professionals:

In 2018, Paul co-founded P.R.I.S.M. (which stands for the core principles of Pride, Resources, Inclusivity, Support, Mentoring), the first LGBTQIA+ employee association for homeland security intelligence professionals in June 2019. Subsequently, coordinated the participation of PRISM in their first participation in Capital Pride, a notable milestone for the workforce community. As Chair, Paul led engagement, training, and resource actions that tie to each of these founding principles for over 1200+ participants and 400+ new employees.

DHS PRIDE, a 501c not for profit dedicated to enriching the community experience for Homeland Security professionals

In 2021, Paul was elected Vice President of DHS PRIDE, representing LGBTQIA+ employees and allies amongst a 260,000 member workforce.

Expanding on his work with Capital Pride from PRISM, Paul led DHS PRIDE’s participation in the annual Capital PRIDE celebrations in Washington, D.C., and New York, NY between 2022 to 2024. In 2023, Paul was elected President of DHS PRIDE and remains in the role.

•Achieved DHS PRIDE being a part of the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC), lending to future resource options for DHS PRIDE and its chapters.

• Led the founding of four new chapters for DHS PRIDE.

• Championed partnerships with Out & Equal, the Trevor Project, and DC Mayor’s Office.

• Initiated the DHS PRIDE Speaker Series on YouTube.

• Partnered with departmental leadership on coordinating PRIDE Month departmental flag raisings.

Recipient of the 2023 Department of Homeland Security Champion of Equity Secretary Award.
